Guest Interview – Wandermust Family

The Wandermust Family

This week’s guest post comes from Wandermust Mummy, travel blogger behind Wandermust Family. She explains ‘We are the Wandermust Family. A British Expat family based in Doha who firmly believe that travel doesn’t have to stop just because you have children. We hope you enjoy our travel adventures, top tips and feel inspired to do more adventurous family travel’

1. What is your name and where do you come from?

Hi I’m Wandermust Mummy of The Wandermust Family. Originally from the UK (London) but now living in Doha, Qatar with the rest of my travelling family – Wandermust Daddy and Baby E!

2. What sort of traveller are you? Full time / part time / business / backpacker etc?

We are part time family travellers making the most of our annual leave. But next year we are going to embark on a round the world trip with our baby in tow before we relocate back to not so sunny England!

3. How do you fund your travelling?

We both work full time which is how we afford our travel. We both enjoy luxury so there is no way we could do it without working.

4. Where is the best place you have been and why?

Uganda has to be our favourite place to have visited. We went chimp and gorilla trekking which really is a once in a lifetime experience. It was an amazing experience. But a close second would have to be Sri Lanka where we stayed at the best hotel in the world in my opinion.

As a family – I don’t think you can beat Italy as a place to go. We have written about why we think Italy is the perfect family travel destination on the blog!

5. Where is the worst place you have ever been and why?

It would probably have to be Paris. We went for a wedding anniversary and both were terribly ill and probably should have cancelled but it was non-refundable. We were miserable the whole time and found the food to be poor and expensive. It really didn’t live up to expectations

6. Do you have a Bucket List? If so, where are the top 3 places on it?

Iceland definitely which will be the last stop on our round the world trip, Japan which we hope to get to this year and Argentina. Going to have try and shoehorn that one into our schedule soon.

7. What 3 things (apart from the essentials – food/water etc) do you always travel with?

As we are family travel bloggers, I think our travel essentials have to be baby related. We love our Sit and stroll which is an airplane seat, car seat and stroller all in one, our Koo-di – a extremely portable travel cot with in-built mosquito net and of course our camera for capturing all our lovely family travel memories.

8. What makes you happy and why?

Travel and family! Good job I’m a family travel blogger really

9. How long have you been blogging and why did you start?

We started blogging last year after our baby was born. We have always travelled and knew baby wouldn’t stop it but would make it change. Our blog is to document our adventures but also to inspire and help other parents who want to travel with top tips and inspiring tales.

10. What makes your blog unique and why should people read it?

We are not a digital nomad family but just regular people trying to experience as much travel as possible with our baby while still enjoying some luxury here and there. We offer family destination guides but also great top tips on how to travel with a baby.

From ESLT – thank you Wandermust Mummy for taking the time to answer our questions. Safe Travels 🙂
