So life is pretty crazy at the minute both blogging wise and in the ‘real’ world. Working full time and travelling as far and wide as possible is amazing but I by the time I come to sit and write about our experiences I’ll be honest I forget a few things. Therefore I thought would introduce a new section to the blog – Monthly Round-Up! So here’s the first one 🙂
So it’s June and it’s supposed to be Summer. Unfortunately, we live in England and the sun didn’t get the memo. From BBQ weather at the beginning of the month to torrential rain and weather warnings issued at the end, it certainly has been a mixed month!
Hotel Reviews
June started with two fantastic, yet completely different hotel review opportunities:-
The Grainary, a farm stay in Scarborough, North Yorkshire which really gave us the opportunity to be at one with nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of getting away from the city. Being an animal lover I loved spending time with the animals especially Petal and her gorgeous little piglets.
Jesmond Dene House in Newcastle where we felt in the lap of luxury. A gorgeous hotel with an exceptional restaurant! We were invited to spend the evening in this luxury boutique hotel and from the second we walked through the door we were made to feel at home.
Future Trip Planning
Remember when my beautiful best friend Samm from The Inspiration Highway won a holiday at the Icelolly.com’s #blogatthebeach event back in April? Well, we have now finalised our upcoming plans and we will be heading to Split in Croatia for four nights in the middle of September 🙂 Of course, our planning needed to be done over a bottle (or three) of wine!
This month we were also invited to my friend Alison’s wedding in Lindos on the island of Rhodes, Greece at the end of September. Having never been to a destination wedding and excited about seeing her and her partner tie the knot we jumped at the chance. I have been to Rhodes before but that was over 10 years ago and that was to Falaraki which was great for a 22-year-old but not now. We have a couple of days before the wedding to explore Lindos and the surrounding area.
Celebrations
Mr ESLT and I celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary! Where did the years go? We celebrated with…..you guessed it wine. Here’s to many more very happy and well travelled years.
Live Music
We love live music and even though the idea of camping and having baby wipe showers makes me feel sick we love attending gigs as often as possible. The Stone Roses are one of Mr ESLT’s favourite bands of all time and have seen them when they first reformed a couple of years ago we were excited to see them again at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. Needless to say, it was an amazing night and we would definitely see them again in a heartbeat.
Up, up and away
We ended the month in the lovely city of Bratislava which is the capital of Slovakia where we were lucky enough to see the sunshine (YEAH!!!). Over the coming weeks, I will be writing about the gorgeous Tulip House Boutique Hotel, things to do and see in the city and the scary experience where we thought we would wake up the following morning minus our livers!!!
Travel Blogger Interviews
This month we featured interviews from the following fantastic travel bloggers:-
Hometown Tour Guide
This month’s Hometown Tour Guide was the Lovely Rachel from Life in Geordieland who wrote about her hometown of Newcastle, located in the North East of England.
