Canada also has a number of traditions. As well as celebrating the usual things such as birthdays, weddings, Christmas etc Canda also has some traditions of its own. These include the Calgary Stampede which takes place annually in July and Thanksgiving, which is similar to Thanksgiving in America and is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Also, because of Canada’s French influence, Quebec has a number of unique traditions and festivals including Québec Winter Carnival, St Jean Baptiste Day and the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

Food, glorious food. If you travel for culinary delights, you will not be disappointed when you visit Canada. Because of its diverse population, you can find food from every corner of the world here. However, if you’re anything like us, when you visit a different destination, you want to try the local offerings. Well, you’re in luck as Canada has a number of delicious and tasty treats just waiting to be sampled.
Canadian cuisine is very varied with something for everyone from the savoury delights such as Montreal-style smoked meat (cured meats), Toutons (fried bread) and of course Poutine (fries topped with cheese curds and gravy). And if it’s sweet treats you can’t get enough of then a world-famous Beaver Tail is a must. They are a fried dough pastry in the shape of, you guessed it, a beaver tail which is topped with any sweet you could possibly think of – cream, Oreos, smarties – you name it.
