When It’s Time For A Break: 5 Warm Locations You’ll Love to Visit

Warm Places You'll Love

By the time February kicks in, nearly everyone is tired of the cold weather to the extent of wanting to get out for a week or two. Luckily, numerous places around the world can offer excellent opportunities for people to take advantage of the warm weather. Here is a list of some of the best warm locations to visit when breaking away from the cold.

Orlando, Florida

Disneyland, Florida, USA

Visiting Universal Studios and Disney World can be hectic and a nightmare during the festive seasons. In February, however, these parks often record the lowest visitor numbers compared to the holiday season. Expect shorter lines during the off-season. The facilities in these parks are affordable, and the packages offered for families are usually enticing.

Mexico City

Mexico City, Mexico

The city of Mexico itself is usually warm only in February, and that is the case during the afternoons.  Regardless, Mexico City is still an amazing place to visit, and February is the perfect time to go. During this period, there is virtually no rainfall, so it is possible to visit all the monuments and ruins in the city without having to worry about the weather. It’s also important to mention that there’s a huge, safe, and fantastic city centre in Mexico City, which is more impressive compared to some cities in Europe.

San Francisco

San Francisco, USA

A notorious former prison, Alcatraz, is found on an island in the heart of the San Francisco Bay. It is at these places where some of America’s most notorious offenders were imprisoned. Alcatraz was shut down in the sixties, and the stories about the prison are still legendary. This is an amazing place to visit during the early months of the year due to the warm weather. The region neighbouring the prison has terrific accommodations, such as the San Francisco Marriott Fisherman’s Wharf, which offers all the amenities visitors will require to make their vacation memorable.

Isla, Holbox, Mexico

Apart from Mexico City, visitors of this country can also find another peaceful place to enjoy the sun in Mexico. A possible candidate is Isla Holbox, which is a secluded piece of land off the Yucatan Peninsula. With thatched-roof houses and an untouched lagoon, Isla Holbox offers an excellent option for you to experience the work of artists, designers, and expats who also come here to live.

Lima, Peru

Lima in Peru is usually popular during the early periods of the year due to its fantastic weather. Although it is often crowded by the upper-class and middle-class South Americans, it’s still an excellent place. This is because it doesn’t feel overwhelmingly touristy. The sunny and dry climate of Lima, with warm days, is fantastic for anyone looking to enjoy the warm weather.

Breaking away from all the house chores and daily life can be an excellent thing. The above locations, along with many other places around the world, offer the best weather during different times of the year for visitors to enjoy. We’ve only just got back from Abu Dhabi and already can’t wait to plan our next winter sun getaway. Janet’s guest post has given us a lot of inspiration. Hope it has you too 🙂

Some good options there but I’d love to see some more European or closer to Europe based places too. My husband often gets a week of come late Feb, early March and we always try to find somewhere a little warmer to holiday. So far we’ve done the Canary Islands and Dubai.

Thanks for your comment Amber. The Canary Islands are great at the end of Feb/beginning of March, aren’t they? Reasonable length flight and lovely weather, especially compared to the UK. We have just got back from Abu Dhabi and imagine it would be a great destination Feb/March too. We did Dubai last year in May – we loved it but boy was it HOT!!! Somewhere we would recommend if soaking up the sun is your thing are the Cape Verde islands. A little too quiet after a while for us (we were there for 2 weeks) but perfect to get a bit of sunshine for a week and only just a little further than the Canaries 🙂

Yes they and a very welcomed change of scenery after a long, grey English winter too! Dubai wasn’t so bad the first week of March, we weren’t dying from the heat but it was warm enough. Don’t know much about the Cape Verde islands but I do see deals from time to time that pop up on voyage Prive so I might have to look into that next time. Thanks for the recommendation =)
