Today is our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Yes, a decade ago to the day we said our ‘I dos’. It naturally got us thinking back to our own wedding and the planning it took to make it the perfect day. The Maldives has always been on the list of most romantic honeymoon destinations as it has everything for loved up couples – beautiful luxury resorts which offer spa treatments, amazing food, breathtaking backdrops, relaxation and stunning accommodation. The paradise islands are perfect for newlyweds who want to unwind following their big day.

Thailand especially the island of Koh Samui will always hold a special place in our hearts. This is because it is the island we spent the majority of our three-week Thai honeymoon on. In fact, we had planned to renew our vows here this year to celebrate our decade of marriage. Unfortunately, ‘Rona had other plans. Hopefully, we can return one day soon as it is a beautiful island and one that is perfect for a destination wedding.
Thailand, especially the beach resorts are stunning. There are lots of luxury resorts to choose from who will, we’re sure, do everything possible to ensure you have a day to remember. With crystal clear waters, amazing food, history, culture and of course beach massages, you really should consider Thailand. You may even be surprised at the value for money this destination offers compared to some of its European counterparts.
Italy
If you are a regular ready of our blog you will know that Italy is our favourite country. It was our first choice as a wedding destination way back when we were planning our big day. Unfortunately, due to a number of elderly relatives and pregnant friends, there was no way we could push ahead with a ceremony in the rolling Tuscan hills. However, if your circumstances permit, it is a great option.
The scenery, the food, the history, the culture and of course the fantastic wine make Italy a wonderful choice when it comes to destination weddings. Also, because the county is so diverse there are various options available depending on your tastes. From the numerous waterside resorts on the Amalfi Coast to luxury hotels alongside the Grand Canal in Venice and not forgetting the Tuscan countryside as already mentioned.

Another country that is one of the most popular wedding destinations in the world is Greece. Having attended a wedding on the beautiful island of Rhodes we can totally understand why.
