The Taste of Travel at Home

Indian Food

If like us you travel the world and love experiencing the local cuisine on offer, you’ll know how frustrating it is when you are between trips and how easy it is to fall into a boring/easy food rut. There are so many ways to replicate authentic cuisines and experience the taste of travel at home, barring ordering one in from a local takeaway. In fact, we often attempt to recreate dishes while at home. We really enjoy cooking, especially together. Therefore, we often have nights where we choose a particular cuisine, pick our favourite dishes and cook up a storm. We even try to recreate the atmosphere including music and local beer or wine. Unfortunately, as we live in Britain we more often than not lack the sunshine that normally accompanies some of the dishes we enjoy.

Spices

Most major supermarkets now have World Food sections which stock ingredients from across the world that were maybe previously difficult to get your hands on. This means creating great tasting and authentic dishes from many places across the globe is now a lot easier than it used to be. However, some cuisines we still struggle with and need extra help to get them just right, even when we follow the recipe to a tee. Therefore cookery classes are a great way of learning traditional ways of cooking. Here is a great one to consider if you, like us, are struggling to master Indian/Bangladeshi dishes.

Why Take A Cookery Class

Veggies for Cooking

There are so many reasons to take a cookery class. Here are just a few reasons why:

  • To learn how to cook. Having the knowledge and guidance offered by the chef who leads the class is a great way of developing your skills. This is because they are there to learn from and answer any questions or queries you may have.
  • Learn to cook cuisines or dishes that you have never even considered before. This also gives you the opportunity to find out how the ingredients fuse together to create taste sensations.
  • Cook dishes that remind you of your travels. If you have visited somewhere and want to recreate that dish but don’t know how to cook it authentically a cooking class specialising in that cuisine is a great option.
  • Make new friends. Apart from developing your cooking skills, by taking a cookery class you can also develop your friendship circle. It gives you the opportunity to meet like-minded people and share your experiences with them.
