Monaco: The Small Country Full of Unique Experiences

Monte Carlo, Monaco, Europe

Even though Monaco is one of the smallest countries in the world, there is still a lot to see and do there. You could say it’s small but perfectly formed. Monaco has always been synonymous with a holiday destination for the rich and famous and it’s easy to see why. Monaco is like the Mary Poppins of countries – practically perfect in every way. It’s full of beautiful buildings, cars and of course people. However, it is a country that now is becoming more accessible to everyone. Therefore, why not take a trip yourself and check out some of the unique experiences only Monaco has to offer.

Experience The Monaco Grand Prix

If you are an F1 fan, you will know just how special and unique the Monaco Grand Prix is. Every year one weekend during the month of May, the streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine become the race track (Circuit de Monaco) for one of, if not the most important and prestigious races in the world. Watching such a unique race is a fantastic experience to start with, but what if you could make it a truly unforgettable one?

Well, that’s easy – a Monaco Grand Prix Superyacht hospitality package is the way to go. As the cars whizz past the harbour, just imagine being on board a SuperYacht moored in prime position under the warm May sun, relaxing, quaffing unlimited chilled champagne and eating award-winning food? For any F1 fan, surely this is the perfect way to spend the Monaco Grand Prix weekend? Not only do you get to see the race but do it in the lap (see what we did there?) of luxury – perfect!

Opting for a package is a great way to ensure you get the most out of the weekend. This is because organising and booking accommodation and tickets for the Monaco Grand Prix independently can be a tough and tiresome experience. It’s important to remember that this is the busiest weekend in the Monaco social calendar. Therefore, demand is high, as are the prices. So if your budget permits, a SuperYacht inclusive weekend that has been planned out for you to a tee sounds pretty perfect to us, doesn’t it to you?

Experience The Famous Casino Square

Monte Carlo Casino Square, Monaco

One of the most famous (and stunning) buildings in Monaco is the Monte Carlo Casino located in Casino Square (Place du Casino). A far cry from the neon-themed casinos found in Las Vegas. This casino is elegant and attracts high powered people from around the world who want to try to beat the house. It may even look familiar. The Square has been used as a backdrop in many films. These include a couple of James Bond films and also Ocean’s Twelve. Even if you don’t fancy trying your luck on the roulette wheel or at the poker table, a visit to the square which is also home to the Hotel de Paris is a must. Even if simply just to soak up the atmosphere.

The Salle Garnier Opéra de Monte Carlo is an opera venue and is part of the Monte Carlo Casino. Originally opened in 1879 and designed by architect Charles Garnier, it has been a long-standing popular attraction in Monaco. Yet another beautiful building and somewhere you should visit, even just to admire the ornate architecture and colourful frescos. Even if opera is not your thing, not to worry. Opéra de Monte Carlo not only hosts operas but also various shows and performances from numerous international bands and artists together with a number of shows particularly for children and not forgetting the Monte Carlo Jazz Festival which the venue holds every autumn.

Experience The Royal Palace

Prince's Palace of Monaco, Europe

The official private residence of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco is the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. Originally built in 1191 with the fortress and ramparts being built by the Genoese in 1215, it has a long and interesting history. You can visit the Prince’s Palace and see how wonderful it is up close for yourself. Especially because of years of renovation and restructure, a range of architectural styles can be seen. If your budget allows, daily tours during the summer months around the Royal Palace and State Apartments are available allowing you to see just how royals live. Also, if classic cars are your thing then a visit to The Cars Collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco is a must.

The only public beach in Monaco is Plage du Larvotto. It is the perfect place to head to relax and mingle with the rich and even famous. It is also extremely kid friendly, so if you are travelling with children, this man-made beach is a great place to spend some time. Bars and restaurants line the beach, many offering amazing views over the Mediterranean Sea, making it a great spot to grab lunch, dinner or even just a drink and indulge in some people spotting. Also, if watersports are your thing, Plage du Larvotto has got you covered. Here you can book jet skis, take a boat trip and even windsurf and para-sail. As it is the only public beach in Monaco, it does get busy. Therefore, make sure you arrive early to secure a great spot.
