After visiting Atlanta, Smoky Mountains by Owner recommends taking a hike through the mountains and visiting the many hidden waterfalls. There are great golf courses, and jet skiing is also rather popular. The mountains are also a great place to go on a scenic drive or hike. The hills are beautiful in every season, but they are spectacular during the spring and summer.

There are many music venues spread across the state, but one of the best ways to hear music in Georgia is to visit one of their music festivals. You can visit the A3C Hip-Hop Festival in Atlanta to hear the country’s biggest hip-hop artists. On Memorial Day weekend, you will not want to miss the Atlanta Jazz Festival. Hear outstanding blues music during the Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival. If you love bluegrass music, be sure to visit Raccoon Creek Bluegrass Festival.

History Comes Alive

There are many places in Georgia where history comes alive. Historical reenactments are held in many different locations, including at Resaca, Georgia. See how the state’s first farmers lived with a visit to the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village in Tifton and how the state’s first towns were organised with a stop at Westville. Learn how the state’s first African-Americans lived by visiting Seabrook Village. With so much history to see, you may want to take a history-inspired road trip across the state. A variety of vehicles are suited to the mild weather of the area, but Avis recommends renting an SUV if you plan to go offroading during your journey.
