Typically, people dress comfortably while they travel. Travelling can be a hassle depending on the length of the journey, how much luggage you have together with other factors. Travelling for many people isn’t a special occasion like it used to be. It’s an everyday thing.
Airports are more often than not littered with people in hoodies and joggers because it’s more important to be comfortable than it is to look good in most cases (although many people do pull off both). If you are or identify as being plus size you may worry about being comfortable when travelling even more so but there are so many companies who now offer geat plus size clothing, you’ll be happy to know that you can actually look good and be comfortable, despite the challenges you might face with big and tall clothing.
Layering
The versatility that comes from layering allows you to pack less. Your wardrobe will go farther when you can mix and match items to make them look like different outfits each day. You can wear these items more than once, and no one will know that you only packed two or three shirts/tops instead of one for each day.
Hoodies are comfortable, but they can look sloppy, and blazers look too smart, but they don’t allow for a lot of comfort. Why not try a knit blazer instead? They’re stylish, and the stretchy knit fabric makes it feel luxurious. This type of knit also reduces the appearance of wrinkles, so it’s easy to pack and go.
Packing Dark Shirts/Tops
You can reduce the look of stains and wrinkles even more by packing dark colours. You can get away with packing fewer of them because they clean easily. If you do drop food on your shirt, the dark colour helps minimize the stain.
Wear Dark Trousers
Dark trousers hide wrinkles, too. Instead of linen or soft cotton trousers, pack dark denim or thick trousers to hide stains and creases. These types of materials are durable, so they hold up well during travel and can withstand a lot of stress. Your favourite pair of jeans may even be the most comfortable?
Wear Simple Footwear
Wear socks (possibly flight socks) that absorb moisture to keep your feet dry and comfortable. This eliminates odour and makes it easy to wash the few pairs you bring instead of taking up room in your suitcase with extras.
If you own them, pack boat shoes, loafers, or moccasins that are easy to slip on and off while going through security or driving long distances. These types of shoes take up less room in your suitcase, too.
Get Rid of Bulky Baggage
Depending on the length of your trip, you may or may not need to check your bags. However, you should always shed as much baggage as you can to make travelling easier (and often cheaper). Duffel bags make great travel buddies because they’re spacious and versatile. You will have a lot of extra room for all of your big and tall clothing if necessary.
When Preparing for an international flight will hope our tips help you save room in your suitcase for all the essentials.
