How to Make More Frequent Travel Happen

How to Make More Frequent Travel Happen

Travelling is fun and exciting. It’s also a great way to expand your personal horizons and learn about new cultures. Many people make the resolution to spend more time travelling each year and whether it’s exploring your local area or hitting exotic parts of the globe, there are lots of ways that you can do it easily. Here are a few tips to help you meet your resolution goals.

Keep It Safe

First things first, while travel is fun, you want to make sure everything is safe when you’re not home. Installing a home security system can help you relax knowing you have control over your house whenever you are not there. A modern, well designed, smart home security system can also help you check on your home remotely and make sure nothing is amiss. DIY home security from ADT can be purchased at Best Buy and are pretty easy to install yourself.

Weekend Breaks

Camp Site
Travelling doesn’t have to mean you have to go far. Travelling while staying close to home – a staycation – can be just as rewarding as flying across the globe. A weekend getaway to somewhere even close to home can help you feel refreshed and relaxed. There are always lots of options to choose from including luxury spa hotels and self-catering cottages. However, if you are on a budget, it also doesn’t have to be costly. If the great outdoors is your thing, low-cost camping sites are a great option. With smaller types of trips, you can take several short trips a year and get to know and enjoy your local area better in the process.

Do the Airbnb Thing

Airbnb* is a great way to travel as it allows you to access unique homes, experiences, and places around the world. If you’re on a budget, you can often find lots of inexpensive types of accommodation. For those who have large families but still wish to travel, staying in a private home can help them save money on other travel expenses such as food and transportation. Many such listings are located in the heart of a big city, so it’s city breaks can be cost-effective as they are often a lot cheaper than hotels, leaving you with more cash to spend on exploring the area and visiting attractions.

Travel During the Off-Season

Travel during Shoulder Season
Traveling during the off-season can be highly rewarding and cheaper, therefore allowing you to travel further or for longer. People who travel during this time of the year frequently experience fewer crowds and more privacy. The process of travelling during non-peak seasons also means less competition making it easier for travellers to find transport and arrange hotel rooms in their chosen location at lower prices. Just ensure you pack the correct clothes to ensure you are prepared if the weather is not on your side.
Anyone who wants to travel more frequently should realise there are many ways to make this dream come true. From short trips to nearby locations to travelling during the off-season, it’s possible to travel quickly, easily and safely while more often than not saving money too.

I completely agree with you on Airbnb and traveling during the off months. I’ve snagged really good deals avoiding all the busy times. I just went to Rome and fly roundtrip for 100 Euros from Paris. It was awesome!

We love great deals and living in Europe we can take advantage of all the budget airlines. We’re glad you had a great time in Rome, it’s such a beautiful city! 🙂
