Cuba: Where you Need to Head to Make the Most of its Natural Beauty

When you think of Cuba it’s most likely the pastel coloured buildings and cobbled streets of Old Havana that come to mind. Whilst the charms of the gorgeous crumbling town is one of the country’s greatest allures, Cuba’s natural beauty is arguably even more of a reason to visit the island. Situated in the effortlessly gorgeous Caribbean, Cuba is the largest of all the islands with a heck of a lot of  natural beauty to boast, here’s where to head to make the most of Cuba’s incredible natural beauty on your visit:

Hanabanilla Lake

Nestled in the beautiful Escambray Mountain range, you’ll find the beautiful Hanabanilla Lake. Surrounded by the tobacco plantations and coffee plantations, from the lake you have some gorgeous views of the dense Cuban jungle with horse-riding opportunities providing the perfect way to enjoy the scenery. There are opportunities to fish in the lake and hike through the mountains for those who like to explore what’s around on foot.

Vinales National Park

Situated in the incredible Vinales Valley is the Vinales National Park, which has a reputation for being one of the most visited places in Cuba. See the stunning rock formations that rise out of the ground behind the tobacco and banana farms which lie on the floor of the valley., with plenty of opportunities to wildlife watch and horse ride whilst exploring the Vinales. As one of the most fertile Caribbean islands, Cuba has a lot to offer when it comes to flora and fauna, with hundreds of rare species inhabiting the valleys.

It’s such a beautiful place. Although I worry it may become very commercialised very soon so hopefully you’ll get to visit before it does ?
