With Christmas fast approaching I am constantly being asked what I would like as a present. My instant answer is always ‘a winning lottery ticket’. Unfortunately, I haven’t received one as yet therefore I guess it’s important to have a backup list. I love receiving gifts which I can use on my travels. So I have looked to some of my fellow travel bloggers for inspiration and also thought about what I cannot live without when travelling and why it would make a perfect present for the traveller in your life.
On the First day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. a Canon EOS 100D camera, ok not a stocking filler but certainly an awesome present priced at approximately £350 but as a frequent traveller having a reliable camera that delivers high quality photographs is a must. We have had this camera for just over a year now and have nothing but praise for it. Photography is Mr ESLT’s domain and he loves using this camera to get killer shots. We found that the cost v quality is fantastic, it’s reasonably lightweight and compact and we highly recommend it.
On the Second day of Christmas my true love gave to me….‘When I travel, I often hold onto ticket stubs, napkins, maps, and anything small that will help me remember my travels. What better way to keep memories organized than in this handy dandy travel stub diary? Instead of having a mess of folded papers and tickets, I can easily put them in chronological order and write in the dates. The clear sleeves also display everything so wonderfully. For only $12 it’s an easy stocking stuffer for your favorite traveller.’ –

On the Third day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. If you use your passport regularly you tend to find that it can start to look old and worn quite quickly. Especially if you’re like me and throw them into the depths of your backpack. I have had my current passport for 4 years and it still looks brand new because I always keep mine in a cover. In fact I actually have two, a pink Radley one and a flowery Ted Baker one. Surely two is enough? Maybe not, as I have just come across the fabulous impossibletobuyfor.com website and fallen in love with this ‘See the World, Eat Biscuits’ passport cover which is great for everyone!
On the Fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. I could not live without my Thermocafe Zest Travelmug by Thermos. I take it everywhere with me. I am a tea fiend and cannot function without a hot cup of English breakfast tea in a morning and as I am usually on the go, this baby can come with me and keep my drink hot for ages. Offered in a range of colours (I of course chose pink) I’m sure you can find one for the traveller in your life in their favourite colour and at £10 (ish) it is a great secret santa/socking filler.
On the Fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. ‘Perhaps one of the biggest trends of the last 12 months, and never far from controversy, the fantastic Selfie Stick is an absolute travel MUST HAVE for any travelling girl! I got my Selfie Stick last year for Christmas and take it EVERYWHERE with me! I don’t care that I look like a clueless tourist in the middle of London (yes, I did use it there!) I love being able to take photos in front of my favourite landmarks without missing bits off the top or my head being cropped! It’s the ultimate accessory for travelling girls, particularly those who are on solo trips. Be warned though, Selfie Sticks are banned from some venues (all of the Disney Parks!) for safety concerns and for causing inconveniences to others (boo!). But use it wisely and you’ll have picture perfect photos at the click of a button.. the perfect stocking filler!’ –

On the Sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. A bright pink (Soft Lips) Strapverz Eastpak carry on which is fantastic for short haul flights and weekend breaks. It fits everything I need in it and is on wheels which means that I can take it anywhere and everywhere. I love the colour as I am a girly girl and if I can buy a travel accessory in pink, I usually do. At (approximately) £120 I think that it is well worth the money as I use it all the time and will continue to do so for years to come. As this wheeled bag comes in a range of colours I think it is a perfect gift for the short haul flyer or weekend traveller in your life.
On the Seventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. a Scrubba Wash Bag which is a great accessory for the people in your life who love the great outdoors and camping. When packing for a camping trip essential equipment takes priority. This can leave you with limited space for clothes. The Scrubba Wash Bag is a pocket sized portable wash bag which allows the recipient to wash their clothes wherever they are quickly and easily. Meaning they can pack lighter in the future without worrying they will run out of clean clothes. You can find them on this awesome website geniegadgets.com
On the Eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. A portable Power Monkey to charge cameras, GoPros, Smartphones and tablets whilst travelling. I’ve lost count of the number of times my mobile phone battery as given up on me whilst on the road and I have not had a power source to charge it. That was until a friend bought me my very own Power Monkey which means that now I can give my phone a full battery of charge anywhere and at any time. Everyone I know owns at least one piece of technology that is compatible with a portable charger so this would make a great pocket size present for most people.
On the Ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. ‘a Wine Check Bag. This bag is basically a suitcase designed specifically for transporting wine safely and efficiently. It holds up to 12 bottles and stays under the 50 lb. airline weight limit. I no longer have to behave as a smuggler or bootlegger when bringing back wine. The Wine Check Bag is awesome and a fantastic gift for anyone who loves travel AND wine!’

On the Tenth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. a handy Matador Pocket Blanket (£21.95) which can be used almost everywhere – from festivals to beaches and everywhere in-between. Perfect for keeping up to four bottoms comfortable on uneven surfaces or your shoulders warm on chilly days. This blanket is small enough it can easily fit in your pocket or bag. It is water resistant, puncture resistant and has weighted corners, basically an ideal accessory for everyone on any type of trip. Another great item available from geniegadgets.com
On the Eleventh day of Christmas my best friend gave to me…. ‘A cute personalised notebook to jot all my travel stories down in. It’s the ideal size to pop in my carry on luggage and write down all my adventures on the flight home. I always carry a notepad so I can jot down thoughts and diary entries as a keepsake for the year, and write down any blog post ideas I have on the road too. My best friend bought it and had it personalised with my blog name. I think it’s an incredibly thoughtful gift for a traveller!’

On the Twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…. a Scratch Map. As a traveller I love nothing more than counting off the countries that I have visited. I personally think having a scratch map is a great way for you and you r friends and family to see where you have visited. It may also inspire you where to go next. Wall mountable and easy to use – simply use a coin to scratch the gold foil from the countries you have visited. Another great gift available from impossibletobuyfor.com and a bargain at under £20. Perfect for all travellers.
