When you work full time it is often very difficult to get all your treatments done before you take a trip. No matter how comfortable I feel make up free and at one with nature I am also quite a girlie girl and enjoy all the pampering and relaxation that comes with beautifying myself. Therefore, I regularly have my nails, hair and eyelashes done. Unfortunatley, I’m not one of those ‘travel girls’, we all know the ones – the ones that look great after a 10km hike up a mountain and don’t have a hair out of place! Nope – I need all the help I can get.
The Cloud Spa area could not have been easier to find at London Stansted – it is literally in the middle of the departures lounge, you cannot miss it. We flew (no pun intended) through security so had plenty of time to grab a drink before my treatment. I met the lovely Catherine who showed me to the pedicure chair. Even though the departure lounge was packed full of people waiting for their flights once in the Cloud Spa area the sound was not as loud as expected considering it is an open area therefore making it very relaxing.
Catherine, as well as all the other therapists, were very welcoming and friendly. Catherine and I chatted away as I received my treatment. We talked about holidays, well what else,we were in an airport 🙂 (if you’re reading this Catherine I hope you have a fantastic time in Mauritius and your sister has an amazing wedding). As a nervous flyer this really put me at ease. So not only did I get a fantastic pretty pedicure but it also allowed me to chill out before my flight.
Catherine informed me that my pedicure would last three weeks and even provided liquid and pads to remove the gel when regrowth starts showing. I didn’t get to wear my sandals as much as I had liked to in Ljubljana however I can confirm that not one nail chipped even though I walked A LOT every day in socks and Converse. Cloud Spa also offer ‘man’-icures and massages for men meaning everyone can have a treat before their holiday. I personally think that Cloud Spa is a great idea for those last minute treatments or a relaxing massage and from the number of people visiting the day I was there proves I’m not the only one who thinks it. With 30 Spas set to open over the next 5 years I will certainly visit again.
