Australia is a vast country and one we have only scratched the surface of. Also, for us Brits, it’s one of the furthest countries away. Therefore when we visit we want to make the most of our time there. Many people visit Oz as part of their gap year or around the world travels. Some like us, visit on holiday others on a 1 year (or 2 if you fulfil the requirements) working holiday visa. However you find yourself in the land down under, we’re sure you’ll have a great time exploring. Because there is so much to do and see in Australia (and you’ll probably want to do and see as much as possible), we’d recommend having at least a rough idea of the type of things you’d like to do or take part in while there.
With this in mind, we have put together a list of some top ideas for activities you can partake in while in Australia.

Some time in the open water can be the perfect remedy to busy city living or long days travelling. With so many treasures to discover, a diving weekend can offer you some truly amazing experiences. Grab your gear and an underwater camera and discover the wonders that live under the sea.

You can enjoy some fantastic city breaks in Australia, allowing you to take in different sights and cultures and get to know some of the most-loved cities on the planet. Enjoy a visit to thriving Sydney or get to know intriguing Adelaide – you’re spoiled for choice and can enjoy getting to know more about the destinations. If you are working on a farm or exploring the Outback, why not spend some time exploring the major cities Australia is famous for.
Discover Local Wildlife
You don’t need to book an African safari to get up close with some of the world’s best wildlife – there’s so much to see right here in Australia. Especially the indigenous animals of Australia such as koalas and kangaroos. Book yourself a wildlife tour to enjoy seeing the penguins at Phillip Island, explore the rainforests along the Great Ocean Road and go hiking in the Blue Mountains. Take time away from the city and take in the best of Australian wildlife.
Relax and recharge with a spa break
If you’re feeling burnt out, stressed and need to chill out, then a spa break can be the perfect way to spend some time away from it all. Australia is home to some of the world’s best wine, so why not celebrate it and book a wine tour? You can visit some stunning vineyards in Melbourne and Adelaide. Here you can have fun sampling different wines, foods and getting to know more about wine production. Wine tours make for a great trip with friends, or something different to do with your partner – an ideal excuse to drink some wine and have fun in the sun. Day drinking at its best.
