View PostI love animals and I love animals in the wild even more so when I saw that going to see wild penguins in their natural habitat was an option whilst visiting Melbourne I jumped at the chance. I booked 2 tickets for this attraction through Viator for £95.18 (which included a 50% discount). The little penguins are the smallest species of penguin in the world growing on average to 33cm (13inches) in height and the largest colony in the world, approximately 32,000 live on Phillip Island.

After travelling for 30 odd hours from Beverley, East Yorkshire to the other side of the world I wanted…… I needed to be greeted by something amazing, bordering on magical and Melbourne did not disappoint. We went mid-September and knew we were taking a gamble with the weather we may encounter. Unfortunately, the weather gods were not on our side for the first few days of our holiday and we faced Baltic 6 degree conditions. This completely made a mockery of the backpack of summer clothes I’d lugged over 10,000 miles.
