England: A Divine Stay At The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, Yorkshire

Not all travel has to involve strapping on your hiking boots and hitting the streets, mountains or trails and as frequent travellers, we often have to remind ourselves of that. Our natural instinct is to explore for hours on end to combat the fear of missing out. So when the opportunity to relax comes along, we have to remind ourselves to grasp it and embrace it. Therefore, when we were invited to visit the Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, which is located on the Bolton Abbey estate in the Yorkshire Dales, it was obviously the perfect opportunity. Advertisements

England: Review of The Artists’ Corner, Harrogate

Being from a fabulous Yorkshire Town, I have an affinity for them. Therefore, when we were invited to stay at the Artists’ Corner, one of the properties that make up the Artists’ Cottages portfolio of holiday lets in Harrogate we were very excited. We have visited Harrogate a number of times, it is beautiful and often listest as one of the best places to live in England and I can completely understand why. In fact, if it wasn’t landlocked and Mr ESLT could continue his job as a marine pilot, it would be at the top of our list too. However,…

England: Hiding Out at The HIDEOUT Hotel, Hull

Hailing from Hull, East Yorkshire in the North East of England we are both familiar with the city – the top attractions to see, the places to grab the best bites and the bars that serve killer cocktails. One thing, it appears we were not up on were the places to stay! Hull has a number of big, faceless, chain hotels, which of course serve their purpose but do not have character or personality. However, we were brought up to speed with a great alternative Hull has to offer when we visited the newly opened and very contemporary boutique HIDEOUT Hotel…

England: Having Our Tastebuds Tantalised at Tapasya, Hull

If you are anything like us, when you see a new restaurant pop up in your local village, town or city, you say to yourself or each other ‘oh we really must try that new place’. Right? Mr ESLT and I definitely said that to each other when the new Indian restaurant Tapasya opened up on Beverley High Road in our home city of Hull. Well, that was 5 years ago, back in 2013 and up until a couple of weeks ago, we had yet to sample the delights on offer. That was until we were invited to a local…

England: Hearty Meal at The Hart’s Head Hotel, Giggleswick, Yorkshire Dales

The Yorkshire Dales is a beautiful part of England to explore, there is so much to see and do for all of the family. Living in East Yorkshire, the Dales is almost on our doorstep and we love nothing more than packing the car up and heading out into the beautiful countryside and that’s exactly what we did last weekend. We enjoyed a morning getting back to nature and wandering around Bolton Abbey and the beautiful market town of Skipton before our stomachs started rumbling reminding us that it was lunch time. Mr ESLT and I, therefore, headed up to the…

England: The Grainary, Scarborough, Yorkshire

I’m a city girl. Born and bred in Hull – the 4th largest city in Yorkshire, England. I’m used to 24(ish) hour living and having everything on my door step. Sometimes I forget that Yorkshire is a diverse county. Not only does it have large cosmopolitan cities, market towns, gorgeous coastline but also rolling fields and beautiful scenery. And it was the latter that we had the pleasure of experiencing recently when we were invited to spend an evening at The Grainary, Harwood Dale, a working farm located a mere 8 miles and 10 miles from the seaside resorts of…
