Guest Interview – One World One Blog

John from One World One Blog

This week’s guest post comes from One World One Blog. He explains ‘I created my site because of my deep passion for traveling, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. Traveling to a foreign location can be one of the most fulfilling and memorable experiences in all of life. However, when in a foreign country or any new location for the first time it’s essential that we know a little about where we are going for various safety and personal reasons. Come on a journey with me and learn from my experiences as I show you some of the world’s most beautiful destinations as I attempt to travel around the world in as many countries as possible!’

1. What is your name and where do you come from?

John Hilsdorf. I’m from Northern, New Jersey about 5 miles outside of NYC. I have lived in Miami, FL for 5 years. Los Angeles for 1. I currently live in Manhattan, NY.

2. What sort of traveller are you? Full time / part time / business / backpacker etc?

Part time, but I hope to be full time one day.

3. How do you fund your traveling?

I have funded most of my travels with a full time job, but I have also taken months off from work to travel the world as well as work on many different business ideas and projects. I’m very entrepreneurial minded and I’m currently working hard on many different things to one day become completely self sufficient and self employed. The goal is to be able to travel the world and be able to work from anywhere.

4. Where is the best place you have ever been and why?

Thailand – the people, culture, things to do, food, nightlife, beach, hotels, how much you get for your money and much more.

5. Where is the worst place you have ever been and why?

Sadly as of right now I have to say Barcelona, Spain because I was only there for a couple days and stayed in Las Ramblas and had issues there. I have heard amazing things about the country and plan on going back, but unfortunately my first experience was not a good one.

6. Do you have a Bucket List? If so where are the 3 top places on it?

Yes. Australia, Iceland, Vietnam

7. What 3 things (apart from the essentials – food/water etc) do you always travel with?

iPhone – for notes, pictures, music, etc.   2 Different credit cards & extra cash in currency of country I’m in.

8. What makes you happy and why?

Freedom, family, good health, traveling, faith, peace. Companionship of a good friend/person/woman

9. How long have you been blogging and why did you start?

I started just recently. December, 2015. I started because of my deep passion for traveling. When I started traveling to some countries by myself I really wanted to share it with the world and even more than that hope to one day turn it into something I can make money off of and travel the world and continue to grow followers and share different things from around the world.

10. What makes your blog unique and why should people read it?

That each article not only tells some type of experience, but is really more geared towards giving the traveler some type of advice or recommendation.

From ESLT –  thanks for taking the time to answer my questions John. We totally agree with you about Thailand. It features very high on our ‘Best Places’ list too, it truly is an awesome place. What a great list of things that make you happy. We also hope you get to visit all the places on your bucket list…..safe travels 🙂
